Former Blink 182 Drummer, Travis Barker and DJ AM were involved and survived a weekend plane crash that killed a total of four people. Of those four people, one was Barker’s assistant and the other was his body guard.

Shortly after the wreck an onlooker saw the two men running outside of the plane trying to put out the flames that had engulfed their bodies. Both men were rushed to Joseph Still Burn Center and are currently being treated in the burn unit for second and third degree burns.

An investigation is currently underway to figure out what caused this horrific accident.
Rumors are being tossed around that the National Transportation Safety Board is ruling a blown tire to be the culprit of this accident.

“We have been contacted by the NTSB and will cooperate fully with its investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims of this accident,” said a rep for Goodyear, the tire supplier of the jet.

“At 11:53 p.m. on [Sept. 19], a Lear 60, which is a twin-engine business jet, departed from Columbia Metropolitan Airport on runway 11. It overran the runway and went through a grassy, overrun area. It came in contact then with airport lights, an antenna array, through the airport perimeter fence, crossed a road and came to rest on [an embankment] on the other side of the road.”

Travis Barker is best known for his role on MTV’s Meet The Barkers where he co-stared with his then wife, Shanna Moakler. After hearing of the accident, Shanna rushed to the hospital to be at his bedside. Both men are in our prayers and we wish them a quick and full recovery.
